Operations Intern Job Description
The Institute for Compassionate Leadership serves to empower the next generation of socially conscious, self-aware and compassionate leaders by educating aspiring change-makers in meditation, community organizing, and 21st century leadership skills built for today's workplace environment, ultimately helping participants find meaningful employment upon program completion. In the six months the participants receive:
• Executive coaching
• Mentorship from experienced change-makers
• Our in-depth authenticity training program
• Placement in meaningful social change work

The Institute for Compassionate Leadership is currently seeking an Operations Intern. The Operations Intern reports directly to the Marketing and Operations Coordinator. As the institute is quickly growing in its first two years the intern will gain in-depth exposure to a wide range of aspects of starting a business. This is a great opportunity for social entrepreneurs with an interest in mindfulness or spirituality.
The Operations Intern will oversee coordination of all events and classes associated with the institute.
The work includes:
⁃ managing and posting daily on the institute's social media pages
⁃ conducting informational interviews with prospective participants
⁃ coordinating logistics for participant weekend retreats in New York City
⁃ organizing parties and mixers during the weekend retreats
⁃ attending and overseeing tech for online classes
⁃ attending and overseeing logistics for all daylong workshops in New York City, which are also streamed online
⁃ serving as a liaison for the institute to participants, faculty, guests, and event spaces

Knowledge & Skills
The chosen candidate will be professional, thoughtful, and authentic. She or he should be capable of initiating and maintaining strong personal relationships. They should possess self-initiative; basic instructions, deadlines, and goals will be set, but it will be up to the Operations Intern to figure out how to complete assigned tasks. The ideal candidate will have a background in event management and stellar communication skills.
While there is no financial compensation for this position, the internship includes a higher level of autonomy and learning than larger corporations. The chosen candidate will be able to attend all institute daylong workshops, online classes, and weekend retreats for free and study with our incredible faculty. The internship will take no more than 10 hours a week. Must be located in New York City or surrounding area.
